Getting to know the people that make the bikes
Métier Vélo builds full custom bicycles with 3D-printed titanium lugs and filament-wound carbon-fiber tubes. Métier Vélo designs a unique frame for each individual rider and builds them by hand one at a time for road, gravel or mountain. Métier Vélo also offers unique custom-designed, 3D-printed titanium frame parts for builders.
Owen Byrne makes custom carbon bike frames in Northern Ireland under the name Donard Bikes. He manufactures the full tubeset and all carbon frame parts in-house using the composites curing oven he built himself. He also builds in steel. This year he’ll be exhibiting at Bespoked for the first time in the New Builders section.
Matt Teague started building bicycles in 2011 in east London, mostly for friends and family and mostly because he was unable to find exactly what he wanted for everyday use in and around London........
Granule Frameworks design and build handmade steel bicycle frames from a small workshop in the Kent countryside. Framebuilder Shaun’s background in mechanical engineering and graphic design produces frames that are both well engineered and beautifully finished, winning him the Outstanding New Framebuilder Runner Up award at Bespoked 2016.
Based 15 miles from Carmarthen in·the challenging cycling countryside of west Wales, Richard Hallett creates individually tailored, fine-handling cycles with a distinctive style and finish.
Evanson Bike Works hand build bespoke steel bicycles in Colchester, UK. Richard started building frames in 2015 and came away from his first Bespoked show with a Brooks Choice Award for his women’s disk Audax with one of the best paint jobs (done in-house) at the show.
Toad Custom Cycles design and hand build bespoke steel framed bicycles, using traditional methods. After a few years of building up the business out of a converted old stable yard, Toad has now moved to a dedicated workshop in Great Abington, Cambridgeshire. Each bicycle is uniquely designed and crafted for the individual, to their specific requirements, using the finest materials and componets
Hartley Cycles is the culmination of over 10 years of fine metalwork and a love affair with cycling. From a small workshop in South London, Caren Hartley creates beautiful bespoke steel and stainless steel bicycles uniquely tailored to each client. As one of the UK’s few female frame builders, Caren is passionate about making bikes for both women and men .............................................
August Bicycles has evolved from the renowned UK wheel building operation August Wheelworks, to offer bespoke frames alongside quality wheel services. The Bespoked 2016 show sees the August Bicycles order book officially open after a year of building for R&D purposes and just as with his wheel builds, Gavin Buxton...........................
